I recently spent some time in San Diego, California, and I think I am IN LOVE! The skies were clear, the ocean blue, and the sunsets absolutely stunning. The weather in Cali always seems to border on “ideal”, but planning for a whole day of activities can be exhausting, especially when you have to dress for the ever changing climate – Not totally impossible, but here’s how I took my casual beachy style to a boardwalk sunset!
I paired my go-to olive green pants with a basic black tank – All else…accessories! For the morning beach walk, I threw on a light weight scarf and my sunnies. The scarf could double up as a head wrap in case the sun was too harsh.
Comfy and casual, perfect way to walk off brunch! Tank was perfect for layering and keeping cool under the sun. It was a little breezy, but the scarf came into play there.
To pull my outfit together, I decided to opt out shoes…just kidding. Instead of flip flops for the sand, I went for a pair of statement slides. My outfit was a little under dressed, and I wanted to make the look more put together with these studded white accent pieces post morning walk. Still comfortable, still “beachy” – ish (Agree to disagree).
This style is effortless for a day out! Light weight, and versatile.
Fast forward through lunch, we found ourselves out by the piers. The wind was picking up, and the accessories were changing! I carried a light weight Longchamp purse to keep all the small items I would need for the day. From hairbrushes, to lipbalms (KaomojibalmsTM), phone chargers, and water bottles…your girl was prepared! Time for a “what to pack” post maybe??
I ditched the decorative scarf for a light weight sweater. I loved the “fluff” of the sweater, it added a different element to the outfit, and took it into the night-time look I needed. It fit nicely in my purse, not too heavy for the day, but much needed when the sun began to set!
The wind picked up, and I was so thankful for this sweater! I love how there are different textures in the outfit. The solid pants and tank as a base. Then metal accents from head to toe.
